Praid is situated in the middle of "Salt-County", and it is well known especially for its salt-mine. The surrounding area is very rich in tourist attractions: besides the salt mine, the salt gorge and salt-spas there are the Bear-lake and the Mogyorosi lake from Sovata; the world-famous Korond village, famous for its traditional folk-art and ceramics; the ski-slopes and guesthouses from Bucin; the trout-lakes from Varmezo; the "flooded village" of Bozod; the Unitarian church from Enlak, with its runic writing inscription; the straw-hat museum from Korispatak; etc.

    The Stefania guesthouse is in fact a renovated and enlarged peasant house, preserving its rustic beauty and the architectural characteristics of the szekely houses. The guesthouse is 800 meters far from the salt mine, in a quiet and peaceful street. It has a large yard, with driveway and garden.
    The Stefania guesthouse expects and welcomes its guests in this quiet street, at the bottom of beautiful mountains, near the pine forest and the trickling Kukkullo River. With its tradition-bound character it gives an insight into the past and tradition of the szekely people. The best szekely delicacies are prepared in its traditional kitchen!



We offer different organized programs:

  • Guided trip to the old salt mine, with historical and geographical presentation;
  • Guided historical and cultural trip to the village;
  • Guided carriage-trip to Rapsonne's fortress, with picnic and story-telling about the past;
  • Stuffed-cabbage festival in September
